Hooray(s)!

In the words of Hannah, "It's a beautiful day!"

Not necessarily in the weather sense (although, the sky does look stormy which makes it even more GORGEOUS than usual), but more in the sense of things are going really well for me today.

Last night I got a call from my beloved Leslie (roomie, Fall semester 2007) and she said there was an extra room in the apartment she'll be living in for the Spring semester at the complex I'm signed up with. I thought about it and decided that living with Leslie again would be AMAZING, so I called the apartment complex and got myself all switched over to her apartment. Hooray, number 1.

I found a book series I'm interested in reading and the third and final installment comes out on Tuesday. So, for my birthday my parents are treating me to the whole series in hardback (love you mucho). Hooray number 2.

I need a new do. Hair do, that is. So I fb-ed Britney and got the number for the salon she works at and set up and appointment to get my hair cut in a real, live, salon for the first time in I can't remember how long (I've been getting my hair cut in kitchens in Rexburg for forever). Hooray number 3.

Dan's parents came in today so they're keeping Hannah and Rachel occupied, which makes a pretty nice break for Ashley and I. hahaha... So there's Hooray number 4.

And then, MY family is coming in tonight, late, so we're going to see them tomorrow. I'm so excited to see all of them. I've missed them a lot because I haven't been home home for a ridiculously long time. I know I was there for a few weeks between Christmas and moving up here, but I'm ready to be back now. Hooray number 5.

I get to see my Mom and Grannie. Need I say more? I've missed my mom TONS. She's definitely on my BFF list and I get to party with her soon. :o) HOORAY number 6.

And I know it's kind of premature, but here we go: BLUE OCTOBER! I cannot describe how excited I am about this. This is definitely a HOORAY! I get to see them in 12 days and I cannot wait. OH! And while I'm talking about Blue October, their new CD comes out on the 24th and I'm going to go buy it as soon as I can. I'll be travelling that day, but if I can, I'll talk Jereme into stopping at a Target or something along the road and if he's not down with that, I'll just skip over to the Target in Torrance once I get there. :o) Hooray numbers 7 and 8.

AHHH, that feels good. I think I'll forego the thankful list because this basically is one.

HOORAY!!

Birthday Wishlists

That's right, plural.

I have a realistic one and a fantasy one.

Let's start with the fantasy list. :o)
1. My own library.
2. A new laptop.
3. A trip to the U.K. Not just England. I want to go back to Ireland, Scotland and Wales, too.
4. A make over by professional stylists.
5. A cross-country train ride, hitting all 49 continental United States in a freaking awesome suite.
6. SCUBA lessons.
7. A reunion with all of the people I miss.
8. My own horse. A buckskin one. That I shall name Ajax.

Now for the real one.
1. More Barnes and Noble gift cards. (They'll last longer this time around I swear because the closest Barnes and Noble to Rexburg is 30 minutes away).
2. Friends, starting with season 1.
3. A necklace with a Celtic knot pendant.
4. An iHome.

Things that induce laughter/smiles/happy feelings in me today:
1. Lake Sammamish.
2. Dreams.
3. Figuring out the new stories in my head little by little.

The Plan

So, my time here in Seattle (okay, it's technically Issaquah, but you get it...) is quickly coming to a close. I have to admit I'm super-duper sad to be leaving. For one thing, my amazing sister is here and I love her. Ditto to her hubby. But more than that, my nieces are here (sorry Dan and Ashley, but yes, you two have been demoted. And yes, I'm writing this after the near horrific babysitting job). Then, of course, is the fact that it's gorgeous here. The scenery is indescribable. There is no word currently in existence for how breathtakingly beautiful it is. Next, my ward is awesome. And finally, my bishop's name is Bishop Bishopp.

So this is what's going down folks:
March 19: The family (or families really, since it's the Conley's and the Masons...) come into town in the evening.
March 20: Sightseeing with the families.
March 21: Moving my sister's family to their new apartment. (And Twilight on DVD!!)
March 22: Rachel's blessing.
March 23: Jereme and I drive to Redding, California.
March 24: BLUE OCTOBER'S NEW CD COMES OUT! Oh. And Jereme and I drive the rest of the way home to Lomita, California.
March 25-26: Packing for Utah.
March 27: Drive to Utah with Chelsea, Nicole and Jereme.
March 28-30: Visiting with my mother and Grannie (YAY!), Nicole's cousin Ben, Chelsea's cousin (and my friend) Katie Farish Stewart plus her family, and maybe even Leslie, if I'm lucky.
March 31: BLUE OCTOBER CONCERT WITH NICOLE AND CHELSEA!!!!
April 1: Drive to California with Chelsea and Nicole (we're leaving Jereme in Utah).

My birthday is April 5, so hopefully I can go to Disneyland or do something equally awesome for that. I'll get about 10 days to pack myself up for my FINAL YEAR of college and then I'll head to Utah on April 15 and then up to Rexburg probably around the 17th.

SHEESH! I'm already tired just thinking about all of that...

Things that induce laughter/smiles/happy feelings in me today:
1. Hannah. She's a riot. The other day we asked her where she wanted to go. She said the park, so we drove over to the park and once we parked the car we were about to get her out and she said, "HANNAH WANTS TO GO TO THE LIBRARY!" So we went to the library. And then, tonight, she asked for her "cozy" jammies. Ashley put her in the "cozy" jammies and then Hannah said, "Hannah wants the chicky jammies!" so Ashley switched them. 3 minutes later..."HANNAH WANTS THE COZY JAMMIES!" ...She's now wearing the cozy jammies.
2. BLUE OCTOBER!
3. Seeing my family.
4. Raspberry lemonade. I'm addicted. For real.
5. Getting to smell the ocean soon.
6. All the amazing roommates I've had in the past (and hopefully I'll get more amazing ones this year.)

Happy Birthday Karissa!

Today is Karissa's birthday, so...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARISSA!!

I hope you have a great birthday (and again...sorry your card is going to be late...) I miss you lots and can't wait to see you and the rest of the fam soon!

Things that induce laughter/smiles/happy feelings in me today:
1. My favorite sister-in-law.
2. A new story plotted and waiting to be written.
3. Hannah's demand of: "WAKE UP AUNTIE LAUREN!" every morning.
4. LC with stars. That's all I'm saying.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEREME!!

It's Jereme's birthday today! He's 25 and as amazing as ever.

I hope you have an excellent day, Brother. I miss you lots!

Things that induce laughter/smiles/happy feelings in me today:
1. Having a brother who once saved me from a monster with "porks all over it."
2. Having a brother who can always make me feel better.
3. Having a brother who is such a great example to me.
4. Having a brother who loves me enough to do 2 road trips with me in one week and 3 road trips in one month.
5. Basically, I have an amazing family all around. Let's face it, they're on a bunch of thankful lists on my blog. I LOVE MY FAMILY!

Gorgeous...

So, I drive past the Seattle, Washington temple (which is technically in Bellevue) at least once a week. My ward's FHE is held at the stake center behind the temple, so when I went to FHE last week, I stopped on my way out and took this picture. It's so beautiful here. One day I'll go when it's light out and actually walk around the grounds (hopefully) because I absolutely love the peaceful feeling that washes over me when I go near it.

Things that induce laughter/smiles/happy feelings in me today:
1. Planning a new course schedule for Spring Semester.
2. Getting to see some of my Rexburg friends soon.
3. Rain and hail storms.
4. Australia on DVD.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

SO MANY THINGS!
#1. Half her butt is hanging out of her shirt/jeans.
#2. We're in a drive through line and she's not in her car.
#3. What I didn't get a picture of was her face about 6 inches away from the giant sized menu.
#4. The muffin top.
#5. She got back in her car and rolled down the window to order, so we know her window wasn't broken.

Ashley and I were laughing hysterically when we saw it and the first thing I did when I caught my breath was say, "Where's my camera?!" And took these pictures.
Things that induce laughter/smiles/happy feelings in me today:
1. Rachel weighs 10 pounds, 9 ounces at one month old. Hannah didn't weigh that much until she was 2 months old.
2. A class with Brother Hartvigsen and another class with Brother Keller, two of my favorite English teachers.
3. Seeing my family in a few weeks (Mom and Grannie included, even though I have to wait to see them a few days longer...)
4. This whole Burger King incident.
5. A nice chat with my sister while we sat in the car for over an hour waiting for Hannah to wake up from her nap.
