Road Trips

Yes, plural.

Jereme and I drove from Seattle to Los Angeles from Monday, March 23 to Tuesday, March 24. I was home for two days and then I drove to Bountiful, Utah with Chelsea and Nicole to visit some people (*waves* Hi Mom!) and to see Blue October.

The trip with Jereme was so fun. I miss my brother so much when I don't get to see him. We had a blast. The best story from the trip? We stayed in Redding, California on Monday night and we got there earlier than we thought we would, so we drove into a more central part of town and ate at Wendy's. In the same parking lot as the Wendy's was a KMart. We decided to go buy a cheapy DVD player so that we could watch Australia in our hotel. We managed to find one for like $26. We go to check out and the lady behind the counter asked if we wanted to get a warranty in case the DVD player exploded or anything and we said no. She gave us our total and we said, "oh, $30 isn't bad." Then she asked if we wanted to donate one dollar - a drop in the bucket for us big spenders - to save a baby. We said no thanks. It was hilarious to us because as we were walking out we realized we weren't too cheap to buy a DVD player for basically one use, but we were FAR too cheap to donate one measley dollar to save a baby. Of course, that isn't true...we make all charitable donations through our church - where we know where the money is going.

Then, the road trip with Chelsea and Nicole was a blast. We got off to a rocky start. Jereme drove up with us and we got a bit turned around trying to find the freeway. For all of us sleep deprived individuals, it was a hoot. Needless to say, the trip was full of laughs. Oh. And snoring.

Chelsea, Nicole and I went out to build a snowman on Sunday. We didn't get very far into the bottom-most layer when a snow ball fight occurred and quickly escalated to a snow-wrestling match.

The snowman has no face, no arms or anything like that. Just one itty bitty stick somewhere on it's "head." We still loved him, though.

It was a great trip!

Things that induce laughter/smiles/happy feelings in me today:
1. Seeing my mom and Grannie. MISS YOU GUYS!
2. The first good snow fight I've had in a few years now.
3. Visiting with Katie Farish (Stewart) and her son Will and Elise.
4. FINALLY meeting Nicole's cousin Ben.
5. "MMMMYYYYY!"
